Benzoin Absolute
Effects: Comforting, warming, calming, uplifting and revitalizing.
Properties: Antiseptic, antidepressant, astringent, anti inflammatory, deodorant, diuretic, euphoric, expectorant, sedative.
Possible Uses: Benzoin used in an aromatherapy massage blend is said to be helpful with the following conditions: anxiety, arthritis, asthma, bronchitis, circulation, colds, cough, depression, eczema, emotional exhaustion, muscle pain, stress, dry skin and scars. Benzoin is a little too thick for the diffuser, but acts wonderfully as vapour therapy in a steam bath. If you find it difficult to work with because of the thickness, try warming the bottle before use.
Precautions: Avoid if you have sensitive skin.
