Aroma: Rich, earthy, fresh, floral honey like aroma.

Aromatic Properties: Calming, healing, detoxifying, grounding, releasing, restoring, soothing and uplifting.

Possible Uses: Helichrysum used in a diffuser or aromatherapy massage blend is said to be helpful with the following conditions: acne, burns, eczema, scars, wounds, depression, exhaustion, high blood pressure, candida, arthritis, sprains and sports injuries.

Blends With: Balsam Peru, Chamomile, Clary Sage, Clove, Cypress, Geranium, Jasmine, Lavender, Neroli, Patchouli, Rose, Sage, Tangerine, Vetiver and Ylang Ylang.

Precautions: Helichrysum is generally considered to be safe. Use in moderation as it may cause euphoria. For external use only.

Helichrysum, my new Hero January 28, 2012

Recently my husband and I both had surgery - reconstructive hand surgery for me and a Heart Bypass for my husband.  Both left considerable scarring and scabbing.  I used Helichrysum on my 4 scars and the results were amazing - and fast.  The scarring is noticeably reduced, happened within days.  I had made a formula up for my husband, with a rose hip seed base, and I added the helichrysum.  His scars are much larger (the length of one leg and middle chest) but he has also noticed improvement and diminishing of the heavy scabbing and, in areas of the leg incision, he's also seen considerable easing of scar tissue and redness and elevation of the wound.  Can't say enough about the ability of helichrysum to help heal and lessen the scabbing and scarring - also, this really improves the "tugging" feel of these cuts.
