Botanical Name: Melaleuca alternifolia

Extraction Method: Steam distillation of leaves and twigs.

Aroma Intensity: Medium/ Strong

Evaporation Rate: Middle/Top Note

Aroma: Fresh, warm, spicy, medicinal aroma.

Effects: Cleansing, purifying and warming.

Properties: Antibiotic, antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antiviral, expectorant, immune system stimulant.

Possible Uses: Tea Tree used in a diffuser or aromatherapy massage blend is said to be helpful with the following conditions: acne, oily skin, burns, wounds, athlete's foot, psoriasis, asthma, bronchitis, colds, flu, coughs, sinusitis shock and insect bites.

Blends With: Bergamot, Cajeput, Cinnamon, Clary Sage, Cypress, Geranium, Lavender, Lemon, Marjoram, Myrtle, Pine, Rosemary, Rosewood, Spearmint and Thyme.

Precautions: Tea Tree is a possible skin irritant and may cause sensitization. Dilute with a carrier oil before use. For external use only.

...is a necessary part of every household and can be used in so many ways because of its anti-infectious, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antiseptic, antiparasitic, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties to name just a few!! I wouldn't be without it.
