Precautions: Wintergreen should be avoided with the following conditions:
pregnancy, endometriosis, breast feeding, liver and kidney disease. Avoid use with young children. Wintergreen is considered topically toxic and a skin irritant, so it is not advisable to apply to the skin, even in a diluted form. Use Wintergreen with extreme caution. For external use only.
